Several years ago, we put out a gift guide featuring some of our favorite vendors, somewhat in jest of the slew of gift guides that get tossed around this time of the year. And it was a hit! Since then we have tried to come up with creative gift ideas that have a tie to Vista Verde. This year we picked a variety of items to appeal to those who love the Western and/or outdoor lifestyle here at VVR. Check out these vendors if you are looking for a unique gift for someone on your list!

Town Hall Outdoor Co.

There is such a great story behind this brand, and we’re excited to see it launch here in Steamboat! A former executive at Smartwool, Robin Hall decided there was no way she was moving her family from this great town when the brand moved out of Steamboat. With her background in the outdoor industry and a passion for sustainability, she launched Town Hall Outdoor Company. Offering sustainable, purpose-built, community-made outerwear for kids, their products are perfect for throwing kids into the snow and letting them have fun!

Kanaine Buckaroo Cowls

These cowls are rapidly becoming a favorite among the staff here at VVR. They are stylish and keep you so warm on a cold day! These cowls are handmade by an uber-talented woman who is making news with her apparel while also getting her PhD and raising three girls in the Wilmette Valley of Oregon. The biggest challenge is finding them available, as they tend to sell out as quickly as she can put them on her website. Hint, there are some other artisans making similar products on Etsy, so that is worth a look if you can’t get one from Kanaine.

Genesis Bow

Did someone in your family (or you?) fall in love with archery at VVR this past year? You’re not alone, and you’re not alone in wanting to get your own set up to practice at home. While this equipment doesn’t come with funny quips from Zach as you practice, you can still have a great time practicing flinging arrows!

Wild Rose Textiles

These gorgeous knits are about as local as one can get. Handcrafted by Charlie’s wife, Barb, each piece is original and totally deluxe. If spoiling someone with one of Barb’s creations isn’t in the cards, at least go check out her website and watch the process and see the famous Loom Room that Charlie built!

Wooded River Stockings

We have enjoyed a great partnership with Wooded River over the years. They are responsible for the beautiful toe warmers and throw pillows on all the beds in our cabin, and it’s always a struggle to pick a favorite from their gorgeous collections. We noticed recently they are selling stockings made from their fabrics, and we can’t get enough of them! Check out the fun patterns and styles, and then head over to their bedding ensembles!

Vino time

Wine can be a great gift, but it’s sometimes hard to find one that is unique and proven to be delicious. Chol is stocking up on Sineann Abodante this year, and he suggests you pick a bottle or 12 up to give as gifts or thank yous over the holiday season.

Of course, there are a few favorites that we have included before, but never get old.

Ranch Organics

If you loved the bath products during your stay at the ranch, then head on over to Debbie’s website and pick up some gift packs for everyone on your list. Maybe even one for yourself? The collection we use for VVR is Sweet Grass.

Tender Belly Bacon

Ok, we know the only reason you all come to the ranch is for the bacon. So why not sign someone up for the Bacon of the Month club and give the gift of a VVR breakfast all year? Of course, the only problem is it does not come with one of our chefs to cook it to perfection. Alternatively, you can just gift your favorite person a vacation at the ranch, and we will provide the bacon for you!!

Drifters Hearts of Hope

For those who like a more altruistic gift, how about a donation to an organization that helps rescue horses? We have become partners with them through the Annie Project, a program that helps dude ranches find safe homes for their retired horses. A donation in the name of a favorite VVR horse would be a perfect stocking stuffer!

Donate to Drifters

Duh! How could we miss a shameless plug for giving the gift of a trip to Vista Verde! If you are not ready to travel quite yet, maybe a gift certificate for a trip in the coming year would do the trick. We can put together a little pack of VVR items to wrap up for that special gift.
