The global response to the death of George Floyd has been profound and has sparked important action along with a crucial dialogue.
At INVIVO, we believe we have an obligation to be a part of the global conversation and to take actions to help eradicate systemic racism, police brutality, and violent acts that are killing Black people. We do not accept this behavior.
For the past few weeks we have been listening and educating ourselves. Diversity, inclusion, and belonging need to be a priority for all of us. We can begin to generate these possibilities by diving deep and looking at the root causes of systemic inequities and our personal biases.
Along with educating ourselves, INVIVO has donated to the following organizations:
- NAACP
- Color of Change
- Black Lives Matter – Toronto
- Black Youth Helpline
- Black-Led Mental Health Supports – GoFundMe
Going forward we all have work to do as we figure out a plan for ourselves to become active participants in the fight against racism. It’s time to speak up and take action.
