MIP UK Swift Slider with Handles image

A new in-bed repositioning system now has the option to be hooked up to a hoist, facilitating single-handed care to free up carers’ time.

Launched today, healthcare textiles firm MIP UK has announced a new addition to its Swift In-Bed Repositioning System range: the Swift Slider with Handles.

The Swift In-Bed Repositioning System is an in-bed repositioning system. It features two elements, the Swift Slider and the UltraSlide Bottom Sheet, which work together to support repositioning and turning manoeuvres in bed.

Swift Slider with Handles is the latest addition to the range, which gives the option to be hooked up to a hoist. This can provide the opportunity to reduce the number of carers needed to undertake repositioning in bed.

The Swift range features a bottom sheet and three options of sliders: a standard slider, a long-length slider, and a slider with handles. Swift benefits from a discreet and dignified design to look like standard bedding.

The UltraSlide Bottom Sheet has a central low-friction panel, “significantly reducing” resistance when used in conjunction with a Swift Slider, according to MIP UK.

The stretchy SleepKnit construction provides a smooth surface and fits most healthcare mattresses (standard and bariatric) including beds with an alternating air pressure mattress. Additionally, the sliders feature a low-friction backing and can be tucked in when not in use, making it readily available when needed.

The durable 100 synthetic fabrics used promise longevity in demanding environments, as well as providing maximum comfort to the bed occupant. Swift is also washable, which is ideal for residential, community use, and hospitals.

Earlier this year, MIP UK launched the washable Aurorra Chairpads and Floorpad range for a durable solution to help manage continence care. The chairpads and floorpads are designed to blend with furniture for a discrete continence solution.
