Namaste friends, family and loved ones,

The good news: We’ve agreed on a team name and will hereafter be referred to as the Flexible Assenders.

The not-so-good news: The Team had a 4:00 am wake up call and headed to the airport, where we waited for the weather to improve so that we could fly to Lukla and begin our trek.

We waited and waited, in the terminal and then on the tarmac, then back to the terminal and back again to the tarmac. Eventually, the plane took off but landed in Ramechap, part-way to Lukla, because Lukla was clouded in.

We waited in Ramechap to see if the weather would clear but it did not, so here we are for the night. Obviously not anyone’s first choice, but we are well fed, healthy and in good spirits. And most of all, Very Flexible.

Fingers crossed for better weather tomorrow.

All our best,

Vern and Carole
